Chief Executive and Creative Director, Pellicano Hotels Group
Marie-Louise Sciò is the chief executive and creative director of Pellicano Hotels Group. Based in Italy, she trained as an architect at the Rhode Island School of Design and began her career at Costas Group in New York, before returning to Italy to work with the architect Massimo Zompa, who introduced her to interior decoration, and founding her own interior design firm in Rome. She joined Il Pellicano in 2005 as an architect, going on to renovate the hotel and reshape its entire concept, from interiors to graphics and sales materials. Her repositioning of the family properties established Hotel Il Pellicano and La Posta Vecchia as two of the most sought-after luxury hotels, and she has overseen the Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa since 2019. In 2020 she launched ISSIMO, the digital extension of the Pellicano world, covering Italian excellence across fashion, design, food, travel, beauty and culture. She has been chief executive and creative director of the group since 2015.
